Clients--

Saturday I shot a wedding at the Mason Park in Tekamah. It was very small and we loved it there. It is a place we would like to rent for the weekend and go out with friends, have some beers and play. It turned out very nice once it got started.

She asked us to be there about 2 to take some formal portraits, we were there about 1:35, you never never keep a client waiting, the gate was locked so we had to wait for someone to show up to unlock it. About 2 someone did show up to unlock it.... Not the bride and groom but her cousin did. She didn't show up until 2:45 and she wasn't even dressed! The wedding was supposed to start at 3, yeah it didn't, it started at about 4. Once it got started it went fast. Portrait sessions went quickly too, everyone was ready. Got to the reception hall and they were still setting up. No DJ was even there and she said she booked one. I know things happen at your wedding that you dont expect or you dont plan on but it was like nothing was planned at all.

My wedding packages are 4 hours long. But I always throw in a extra hour or two for dressing or formal portraits. We did leave a 7:30, but didn't get any dancing or garter throws. When we left they were wondering around and starting to clear out the table. The DJ was still not set up and from what I understand she was looking for him. I was really bummed it wasn't more planned out. Usually when we shoot wedding we get to the reception and the DJ is playing. The DJ announced the wedding party and you sit down to eat. Not at this wedding though. I would have loved to capture more of the partying after the wedding. But she wasn't willing to pay for the extra hours. POOH!

Senior showed up 20-25 mins late for her session and I had her sessions timed out so we could spend 45 min in studio and 45 min outside to get the perfect light. Since she showed up late her outdoor session didn't turn out to well, so I will be shooting her again I believe on Sunday at 8 am. (sigh)

This state is so weird. Growing up in CA I was always taught that if you say you are going to be somewhere at a certain time you are there by that time or you call. Here people that are 15-20 mins late are "on time". But when you book an appt. you pay for the time you are booked, no more. Yeah, I wish it worked that way. LOL We as business owners, especially small business owners, have to rearrange or redo our schedule. Oh well, I guess it's a choice. But sometimes it is a bit frustrating...

Going to finish my tea and spend my time with Billy Blanks, then up to edit photos.
